American Flatbread

Nikki Anderson

 July 2, 2005

In the fall of 2004 our community found out that Nikki Anderson was diagnosed with Cancer. Nikki's Girl Scout troop, along with friends from the community rallied to support Nikki and her family. At a local BBQ held at the beautiful Fess Parker Winery last Fall, American Flatbread baked pizzas and held a public art project for Nikki which included friends creating Prayer Flags.

Since that event Nikki has made progress in her battle. This past spring, after flying in the near constant breeze for months, Joe Hulsizer, from our wholesale bakery, mailed Nikki's flags off to his mother, Hope, in Pennsylvania. Hope, along with friends 2500 miles from Nikki's home, sat down and sewed a beautiful quilt from the prayer flags.

On Saturday, July 2, American Flatbread was honored to present Nikki with her new quilt at a presentation dinner in our Los Alamos restaurant. Present at the dinner were members of Nikki's troop as well as family and friends. Nikki has made consiistent progress in her battles over the past several months.
